Sonya, a 17-year-old Russian immigrant, lives in a claustrophobic Brooklyn apartment with her dad and his ever-growing menagerie of cats. When the landlady threatens to evict them and her dad doesn't seem to care, Sonya ventures out for a night she will never forget.
Eliza Hittman is a filmmaker. She was born and raised in Brooklyn. She received an MFA from California Institute of the Arts, School of Film / Video (2010). Her films have screened in numerous venues and festivals internationally. Select screenings include: Sundance Film Festival (2011), Oberhausen Kurzfilmtage, the British Film Institute, BAMcinemaFEST, and RedCAT.
